Ensuring Business Success: Embrace the Process

How can you set your business up for success? Fall in love with the process of discovering better ways to serve your clients and the journey of building effective solutions. In this pursuit, you’ll find that sometimes you hit the mark, other times you come close, and occasionally, you might be way off target. The key is to keep your focus laser-sharp on your clients’ needs.

Initially, don’t stress about scalability. What matters most is understanding your customers. Pick up the phone, send that email or text, and engage with them. Listen more than you speak. As our business grows, I’ve made it a priority to carve out time for direct conversations with our customers. Thankfully, my team now provides me with a weekly call list to facilitate this effort. It’s essential to hear both the positive feedback and the constructive criticism.

Stay humble. Your clients may tell you exactly what you need to hear, even if it’s tough to swallow. They may also express genuine gratitude for the support you’ve provided during challenging times (high five ✋). And let’s be real: not every conversation will be pretty. But those of us who have experienced the wild ride of entrepreneurship know that it’s all part of the journey. As I once heard, you learn to tolerate “eating glass” in this business.
